Historic adventure from Tijuana-Ensenada to Cabo San Lucas too honor the 40th Anniversary of the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000! Starting with festivities in the heart of Tijuana on Sat. Nov.10.2007 and a unique parade of vehicles. All of the colorful traditional pre-race ceremonies will be held in Ensenada on Sun., Nov.11.2007 and all day Monday. The green flag will drop in Ensenada on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 13 and the last checkered flag will drop in Cabo San Lucas during the early morning of Friday, Nov. 16. 2007

In its first 39 years, the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 has started 32 times in Ensenada, three times in Mexicali (1972, 1993, 1994), twice in Tijuana (1967, 1995) once in Santo Tomas (1998) and once in Ojos Negros (1999). The legendary race has finished in Ensenada 18 times, in La Paz 17 times, in Mexicali two times (1993, 1994), once in Ojos Negros (1999) and once in Cabo San Lucas (2000).

OffroaderBaja TV Coverage - Baja 500 on NBC

LOS ANGELES—Aura360 and SCORE International, the World’s foremost desert racing sanctioning body, announced jointly today the upcoming broadcast program for the 39th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 and 38th Tecate SCORE Baja 500.For the third consecutive year, NBC will broadcast a one-hour special of the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. This year, NBC plans to expand its coverage to include another one-hour program focusing on the Tecate SCORE Baja 500.

Both programs are scheduled to air in December 2006. In addition to coverage on a major national network, the 2006 Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 and the 2006 Tecate SCORE Baja 500 will also be telecast worldwide on ESPN International and be shot in high-definition for distribution on an HD cable network.

Records continue to fall as early champions Steve Hengeveld, Mike Childress and Quinn Cody begin their victory celebrations, as a race record field of 431 starters continues its desert racing journey down Mexico’s rugged Baja California peninsula in the 39th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 desert race.

With the early finishers arriving in La Paz in the early morning hours Friday, the world’s best desert racers who from 38 U.S. States and 12 countries have until 9:30 a.m. (PST) Saturday to become official finishers in the granddaddy of all desert races.
