They call it the most challenging automobile race in the harshest racing conditions on the planet: the Baja 1000 in Mexico. The event organizer has announced a new challenge: develop solar-powered electric vehicles to compete in next year’s race. Organizer SCORE and Redstone Energy Group aiming for the best and brightest electric vehicle and solar technology fields to work with racing teams to develop an electric-powered “EVPV” Baja race vehicle with battery charging provided by solar power. The organizers hope the challenge will serve as a catalyst for developing the clean technologies of the future and, in turn, help reduce U.S. dependence on fossil fuels. Racing has always translated to big advances on the highways.

“The goal is to apply technology and ingenuity, at which our nation excels, to create world-changing results,” said SCORE President & CEO, Sal Fish in announcing the new car-racing division and challenge cup.
“By demonstrating that the technology can maneuver the rugged terrain of an off-road racecourse for 1,000 miles, this will show the world that this technology is more than ready for use in typical urban commuter settings,” added Sun Cup Challenge and Redstone Energy Group co-founder, Rick Skelton. Everything for the Menzies Motorsports team boiled down to one last race and what may be the biggest race of their 2011 season. Their first ever SCORE Baja 1000 took place just over a week ago and they continued right where they left off and that is by letting the fans, sponsors and fellow drivers know that they are an unstoppable team. The race was set to start with the first Trophy Truck off the line at 11:30am but with racing and staging ahead of schedule, the race started roughly 15 minutes ahead of the planned start time. Baja 1000 best story in a long time. Kane Fraser watched “Dust to Glory” last year and said to himself “I can do that”. He is a paraplegic who doesn’t sit around feeling sorry for himself. So he gets a UTV, pimps it out including hand controls and heads to Baja and the start line for the 1000. Out in front in the middle of the night he heads off towards the Mike’s section without doing the SF loop. He finally figured it out, got an access road back to Valle de Trinidad and then the highway back to Borego. He overshoots the turn down to Matomi but eventually gets back on course. So over 12 hours later running the San Felipe loop and he is going to do the Mike’s section again. Hammering away at it with a bunch of new fans he doesn’t yet know he has. Trophy Truck #7 Read More→

It’s not that we have under-dimensioned servers, heck no, we can (and do at other occasions) handle way higher loads, no we got a thing that is called a denial-of-service attack (DoS attack) or distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS attack) at several of our websites. Mainly fishy competitors resolve to such activities.
We do have a pretty clear idea where it came from and will publish any findings when we have proof on that. Ain’t like we have no geeks that can deal with such stuff. We run this site more as hobby instead (therefore also often the not corrected english, no copywriters here) a source of income and we just believe in the good of people Read More→
