El Pato Rojo : Hello – anybody out there????

El Pato Rojo, what’s up with you guys??? We try for days to send an e-mail to you. Better, we try to answer an e-mail from, send to us by a Roberto Herrera about 2 weeks ago. We post that all below with screen shots that way we don’t need to explain ourselves as “negative” people – as we had to do in the past to BCS race folks when we talked facts. Just follow step by step and ones see that’s all facts. So no “you not very nice” statements please. As well please no unqualified remarks as of “not my problem that your computer does not work….blablabla”. Everything’s works just fine, we got 5 different options, IP’s servers, networks, net-ranges from where we can send (and did always with same results). It’s not really our problem but the incoming mail was so funny, we think it’s worth to reply to and we want to show effort from our side – after 6 years this website in BCS off-road with own domain, 2 years before as a sub-domain with another website. That is worth to reply when Pato Rojo sends a mail after that time. That is the first one….. just like good neighbors.

19.5.2010 – Thank you Sr. Fernando Castillo for bringing that to attention of Pato Rojo. We got pointed to the tread you started. We seen also the statement of that TCk race Photo person ( and mailed him, screen shot included) as well read – via Google translator the statement from the Super Moderator. A)We are not related at all to the individual named. There are enough people in Off-Road in La Paz that know that. Otherwise use this same old blablabla as an reference. Otherwise this is also a point to look at Race Dezert and read that. Just because I don’t run with the pack and suck up does not mean I’m not here or have no clue and don’t know people in La Paz. Puro Off-Road is since many years online and we in no way related to that guy claimed by TCk in contrary to a whole bunch of people in BCS off-road that are in dealings with him. Seems like it’s always the last resort of a bunch of people to make them accusations?? How come?? The easiest way out, don’t need to explain much. To us it does not really matter, we replied to an inquire and if that get’s now dragged around. No Problemo. We will keep all nice and public.

Anyway, we receive this e-mail:

Unfortunately we just got the mail a few days ago as we been cleaning out our filters on the server from mails that got stopped their. El Pato Rojo is at least at one spam database blacklisted, that’s why the mail got stopped. We don’t take spam in… Nothing bad, can happen. I’m sure your server administrator will fix that quick in 2010.

Ok,anyway, we reply and send the mail out to the address given – like a flash – chingadera – the mail is back bounced of the El Pato Rojo server in good ‘ol Texas. Darn!! mailbox full! I thought everything is bigger in Texas…

Ok, no big deal we figure. We go to the El Pato Rojo website, hit the contact page, get the e-mail address given from there “info@…” and send our answer to that address. Same thing again. Mailbox over quota. Things in Texas are for sure no more as it used to be. Now we are really concerned about our fellow, award-receiving off-road publisher. He wrote as all that nice stuff to us on what awards he got etc., etc. and now he cant get his e-mails. That’s not good, he may misses somethings important. On top of that is the coming weekend the Titanes del Desierto 2010 race and Sr.Roberto Herrera may cannot get the registration attempts from race teams that send it to that e-mail address. So as last resort we figured we go public here. We see a lot of Baja California Sur website visitors from San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas coming to our site. There are just tons of desert race fans down here and maybe somebody is reading this can pass that message on to El Pato Rojo???

Please send us a FUNCTIONING e-mail address so we can answer your e-mail. You can do here at Puro Off-Road or if this e-mail form is technical challenging you can do so at the Coyote 300 or Dos Mares 500 websites.

The Titans Off Road Racing Club, A.C. La Paz (geez, where do they come from?? I got almost 10 years in La Paz and that’s a new one to me) has developed a new race for the southern Baja California racers with start and finish in La Paz. The new course is said to be in the +/- 250 kilometer range and is thought to be a alternative to the established traditional Dos Mares 500 and Coyote 300 routes.
The Desert Titans race is part of the 2010 State Championship and will be run at 15. and 16. May 2010 from La Paz, Baja California Sur.

With all the going back live online with Puro Off Road and then a “over-night” action to change the layout for more user friendliness we are wayyyy behind in posting – heck we aint have the old posts from the Baja 1000 in 2006 or 2007 “dressed’ up yet… Today’s images are all by Rafa Carballo and total 383 photos from the Pueblo Magico 300 desert race at the southern Baja. There are tons of more pics, also with Quads and motorcycles to come. We may split them to another website to keep the load down on the server. We seen that the baja race fans enjoy what we offer by the amount on page calls and image views we can follow up. Again – Puro Off Road is for ALL Baja Sur racers and race fans and we encourage you again: if you get something to publish in relation to the races held here or race- and team related news – feel free to contact us and WE WILL publish your information after checking on authenticity of the story. We also like to bring to your attention that there has been a “public advise” – you can also call it warning – publish in regards of races being promoted on a free amateur Google blog that do not exist to our information and the person making such announcement is well known in the Off Road society for this kind of statements. 21:39 – we’re working on it… we got about 600 photos and will just post about 200 for today from the Pueblo Magico 300 race in Southern Baja California from San Jose del Cabo to La Paz. Stay tuned for some great pics. Thanks to Rafa “The Man” Carballo. Give the man some kudos and visit his site via the link. If you need a excellent photographer in La Paz or BCS – who on top, is an ex-baja- and desert racer and knows where to go and what to look for – get in touch with him. We appreciate his effort and advice.
00:29 – Calling it for today, no more burning midnight-oil….The race report from the Pueblo Magico 300 desert race from San Jose del Cabo to La Paz with participation of trophy trucks, class 1 racers, motorcycle class and other offroad classes of course will be published tomorrow. We have here in the sideshow a few racing pics and at the gallery another 200. We had no time to select and edit much. More baja racing – almost live so to say – tomorrow here at Puro Off Road, your source for Baja racing reports.

For our “regulars” as well new visitors we’d like to announce that from the coming weekend on maybe some down-times occur for a few hours. We’re going ballistic!! No, not racing self, those times are long past – spending 15 years racing on 2 wheels off road was a cool time yet Feb. 23. ’93 Mickey Thompson Off Road show Jack Murphy Stadium (yep, that was when stadiums still had “real” names) was just the end of that flag pole to climb up, was a killer time. But when one realizes ” hey men, you take a dive and break where in former times you would just bounce…” it’s time to call it quits and what better place as a stadium with 35000+ spectators could one choose for this moment.

So, we go ballistic yet not racing but getting a super-trooper high performance quad core CPU server what enables us to get better, more interactive content on the site. We will change the layout and functions a little on the site and add some optical “pep” and then we are ready for the upcoming races. Make sure you check all announcements, there will be some well known racers with phone interviews (like B.J. Baldwin, Mark Miller or Martin Christensen last year after the 1000, just more… ) and some killer apps to be real interactive. So stay tuned!!

Dos Mares 500 2008 – Desert Racing – Pre-Race Events

The Dos Mares 500 continues to grow and more and more pilots register to sign up at this event to compete. The 2008 Dos Mares 500, with start and finish lines in La Paz, is also the third day of the Corona Extra U-PRO 2008 championship with the results counting toward the ProBaja National Championship. National competitors from 6 Mexican states participate along with international participants from North America. The Trophy Truck Class is expected to have 15 starters. Overall the turnout is the highest in the event’s 15 year history.

The weekend of May 5-6 is here the Dos Mares Off-Road Race, an extreme off-roading competition that draws competitors from all over Mexico is taking place. The route runs alongside the Pacific and ends at Medano Beach in Cabo. The Dos Mares 500 has been the longest running National Championship Race in Mexico. It is the "King" of Offroad Racing in Mexico. and to our information ( no guaranty) the ONLY National Championship Offroad Race on the Baja Peninsula.
