The National Off Road Racing Association announced today that the 2011 Mexican 1000 Rally will take place from May 4th through May 8th 2011. While the afterglow of the 2010 rally still continues with magazine articles, YouTube videos, and a great buzz that resonates throughout the off road community, those that are looking ahead have already begun preparations for 2011. According to Alex Plewniak, NORRA’s director of operations, “the organization receives daily emails inquiring about the upcoming 2011 rally and many are awaiting the opening of registration. Participants will receive their starting positions according to their registration date. The 2010 Mexican 1000 has marked a new era for the off road world. NORRA’s pledge to “honor the past and forge the future” has dropped the green flag for the roots of off road to re-emerge and sparked great interest in the introduction of alternative fuels to the Baja peninsula.
While the 2010 Mexican 1000 rally hosted some of the most renowned off road racers of all time, the dynamic course with its logistically pleasing rally format, full support pits, reasonable costs, and a unique sense of camaraderie, opened the door for any newcomer of the sport to participate with ease. Rob MacCachren explains his penalty and why he didn’t race the 2010 Primm Terrible’s 300. The Bureau of Land Management (“BLM”) handed down the unprecedented and arbitrary action of disqualifying Rob MacCachren from this weekend’s Terrible’s Primm 300 race for engaging in limited testing of the SCORE Trophy Truck No. 20 in the dry lake bed area of Jean, Nevada.

O-tone B.J. Baldwin “Very sad news today for Andy Mcmillin, Rob Mac, Larry Roesler, and Robby Gordon. 30 minute penalty has been lifted.” At a earlier post on his FB wall B.J. baldwin stated: :How can you enforce a rule that nobody knows about? If you ask someone if you can do something and they say yes and then they burn you for it, isn’t that called entrapment? If it’s public land why can’t we use it? We pay our taxes right? What happened to equal enforcement of the law? Is that freedom? 14 years of doing …the same thing but now it’s wrong. How is this fair?”
Comment by editor: We are sure a former champ and top contender does not need to cheat in any way before or doing a race. Glad B.J. Baldwin can start at the Primm 300, Period. ’nuff said!
We were not prerunning. We were testing the race truck. We were not on marked course and there were no posted signs saying it was a closed area. We have been accessed a 30 min penalty which makes it impossible to win. Both BMS (Baldwin Motorsports) Trophy Trucks are withdrawn from the Primm 300. Though I don’t understand, I respect their decision however I’m not sure the penalty suits the crime. Good luck to my fellow racers. And be safe. Read More→
Jesse James’ new Geiser built Trophy Truck will be making its debut at the SCORE, Terribles, Primm 300 Sept. 10 -12, 2010. The new truck still carries the familiar #54 and the Stuka Dive Bomber body panels that only needed slight mods to fit the Geiser chassis. “Jesse gave me a list of demands that we had to follow on this truck” said builder Rick Geiser, ” It had to have his trick spiderweb wheels and BFG tires, it had to have the stuka body panels and it had to have King Shocks, oh and it has to be loud!” The loud part comes from the Brodix 500 cubic inch Chevy engine that belts out 865 angry horses.
