San Felipe 250 race results
Future space for the 2010 San Felipe 250 race results. Unfortunately they are not published yet by SCORE Intl. Some when during the morning hours today, 17. March 2010 the statement on the SCORE Intl. results page changed from “Official results are delayed due to technical problems. A compatibility problem between the IRC data and the SCORE review software prevented a complete tracking review from taking place.” to a “Tracking data Is currently being reviewed”….. Given the history on late results I just hope that the “unofficial” results don’t get changed to much based on penalties…. I sure would be as fan from Team AGM, Martin Christensen and his star driver Armin Schwarz disappointed. Whatever it will be – you’ll find the results here as soon as we get them from the official source, the SCORE Intl. website.

Complete list here… (When available one of them days……… Finally – 6 (six) days after the race. The results are released by SCORE Intl.)
The following reflects the personal opinion of the post editor and may be not in sync with Puro Off-Road’s general philosophy of publishing “as it is” and leaves some room for contemplating.
From a “geek” point of view I have my problems with the “compatibility problem between the IRC data and the SCORE review software” statement. That software been used before so does it mean that is a new software?? One the IRC site?? On the SCORE site??? Both ways I have to question any professionalism if the apps are not tested before. NOBODY would use apps out if a box without some trial runs. SCORE off-road desert racing is more or less the Formula One in off-road racing and with on race event of this magnitude one should expect top notch handling of it. I do not consider having no official race results 3 DAYS after the race as such!
This is not about bashing SCORE or IRC. My relationship with them is basically zero. Approached SCORE maybe 2 times the last 5 years with tech related questions. Otherwise I have a SCORE rulebook and somewhere a sticker on my beer fridge….
In regards IRC – I approached them one time before last years 1000 about some website stuff. Got an timely e-mail reply from Steve Myers, called him instantly back after that, had a 5-10 minute conversation with the guy where he promised to call me back or e-mail a follow up. Never hear from him again….
Then again – I don’t belong to the “inner circle” one can clearly see when following the sport for a while….
No, this is about a spectacle with 100’000+ fans at the race course, this is about more fans following “their” team in the media, this is about a million dollar business. About the professionalism that should come along with that. About the credibility that such a professional attitude would create with the fans. You know, the fans that buy the products promoted with the events, the fans that root for “their” brand of vehicle and support the sport by buying them, the fans that travel hundert of miles across the border and bring revenue to the area where the event is held and therefore they welcome it there. Get the point SCORE and IRC?? You know, the responsibility you take one when doing this kind of events. Responsibility you have to the people that pay YOUR bills!
End of my 2 cents worth – Thursday, 18th March 2010. 5 (five) days after the race. I guess you folks still review the tracking data. Or is it rolling the dice……???
