Armin Schwarz
“Family, friends and sport” is his answer when asked what gives the superfit 1.75-metre man power for his professional long-distance sprint. Climbing, hiking and biking through the mountains near where he lives in Austria keep Schwarz in top physical form. And: “Sport is not just a means to an end for me – I really enjoy it”.
An integral part of his fitness package is good nutrition. Armin states: “Luckily I find pasta and vegetable delicious so I don’t have to force something down that I don’t like. I can take or leave alcohol – although a glass of red wine or the occasional Ramazotti is great.”The linchpin in his life is his family: “Earlier as a bachelor I would never have believed this. But my life with my wife Petra and my two children is pure joy for me. They give me the power for everything – and I hope I give them something in return.”
Project Baja is how Armin Schwarz, the All German Motorsport team and their partners dubbed their fascinating three-year motorsport program in the USA. Schwarz, contester of 121 world rally championship rounds, ex-European champion and two-time German championship winner, tackles the most popular off road race series in America in 2007 – the SCORE International Off Road Racing Series. One of the most challenging races for the Eibach suspension springs. Eibach already supported Armin in his first Baja-1000 race last year
Schwarz will initially contest three desert races in a 700+hp Class 1 Unlimited Buggy reaching 200 kph, run by the Califonia-based All German Motorsports team. The highlight of the year is the “Baja 1000″ from 10th to 16th November, run for the 40th time over 1,400 miles at full speed through the Baja Califonia Peninsula on the Gulf of Mexico. Through the pathless dessert, with high jumps and hard landings the springs are in full activity. Without the high-quality Eibach springs the full-race buggy would not survive.
Virtual Car Club: Off road action and information, network of fans and partners. With the Project Baja, Armin Schwarz has created the Virtual Car Club –VCC– as a new and distinctive internet platform. The VCC on www.armin-schwarz.com is the central junction of a network in which the Project Baja links fans, sponsors and all partners. Every club member is visible on the Virtual Car – a photo of Armin’s 700 hp Buggy – with a logo, photo or illustration, and is represented by a link for three years. The entry ticket to the VCC is quickly obtained. After buying at least 100 pixels the VCC member appears on the Virtual Car with a link activated simultaneously. As an exclusive offer to club members, new action-packed videos are available on the VCC every ten days. Additionally, the VCC features latest photos, interviews, test stories and comprehensive details about this fascinating US sport with Monster Bugs and Trophy Trucks. The VCC also supplies news from off road racing and rally sport. The VCC keeps its members informed with news-flashes via email. Partners and sponsor can communicate their information directly to the fans and are easily contactable via their links. With a password, members of the media have access to high-resolution photo material as well as texts, statistics and everything that press professionals require. Credits: Digiads 5/07
