OffroaderDakar crosses the ocean for 2009 event in Argentinia and Chile

We have crossed the ocean. The Dakar visits South America but doesn’t however leave Africa. The rally was forced to move away from its base but its roots haven’t moved. The links that were set during thirty years and the energy that has nourished the event continue to express themselves in the voyage that we are undertaking. The trip back whose length will also be dictated by the geo-political context is, whatever happens, being prepared now. IvanArgentina and Chile host 2009 edition of the Dakar Rally

Argentina and Chile will host the 2009 Dakar Rally between January 3-18 with Buenos Aires as the start and finish city, organizers said Monday. The move comes after the 2008 edition of the event was canceled for the first time since its inception in 1979 due to security concerns after four French tourists were murdered in Mauritania on December 24. The 2009 rally will feature 6,000km of special stages over a 9,000km-long course, details of which are set to be unveiled in Buenos Aires on Tuesday. Read the rest of this entry »

OffroaderHola from Baja Land….

We had a “major hick up” and lost all of our data (own mistake…) We will need 1.2 days to get most of it up again plus we will use this “occasion” to improve the site with some ideas we’ve been dragging around for a while already. Please come back….

UPDATE: Everything you see prior this post here is from the “old” website before he crash. Unfortunately was he database backup file - by human error - corrupted and we had only the chance to retrieve a few pages at the Way Back Machine.
